Lava mini, sourced from volcanic rock, is an ideal filtration medium but also an excellent substrate material.
It provides an excellent filtration surface for the development of nitrifying bacteria, which grow on the surface of the volcanic rock, cleaning the water of ammonia and nitrate, converting them into nitrites that are absorbed by plants.
Lava retains its biological properties for a very long time (about 12 months).
Lava is completely natural, does not react with water, and does not release any toxic substances, making it fully safe for aquarium inhabitants.
We recommend using the Lava mini 3L filtration insert as the final filtration medium.
Due to its small grain size of 2-4mm, lava does not reduce water flow and filter efficiency.
It is recommended to rinse before placing it in the aquarium.
