Natural volcanic substrate for freshwater aquariums. Volcanic lava with a granulation of 3-6 mm can be used both as a standalone aquarium substrate and as a base layer under the target substrate or decorative gravel. Due to its high porosity, it also serves as a habitat for nitrifying bacteria. An effective solution for planted and natural aquariums.

The granulation of 3-6 mm ensures free water flow in the substrate layer and eliminates the formation of anaerobic zones at the bottom. The developed internal surface of the material is a habitat for nitrifying bacteria (Nitrosomonas, Nitrobacter), which participate in the breakdown of ammonia and nitrites.

Volcanic lava is chemically inert - it does not change the pH or hardness of the water. Rich in silicon, iron, potassium, and calcium oxides, it works excellently as a substrate for attached plants such as anubias, microsorum, and mosses. It can also be used as a biological filter media in aquariums.
